Tutorial: How to use Prego Checkout Tools on Shopify

1) Configure your Checkout Rules

Within the Prego dashboard, you can activate different rules to control the shopping cart and checkout process.

The recommendation is to activate only the ones that make sense for your operation , avoiding overloading the customer flow.

1.1) Shopify Cart Value Limits (B2B/B2C)

This rule allows you to set a minimum and/or maximum value for the customer to complete the purchase. It is ideal for:

  • Avoid placing orders that are too small and don't cover shipping or operating costs.
  • Limit orders that are too large , as they could create risk or unbalance inventory.

How to configure:

1. Go to Checkout Rules → Cart Value Limits .
2. Choose the limits:

  • Minimum Value: example → R$200 (the customer can only complete the purchase if the cart reaches this value).
  • Maximum Value: example → R$5,000 (blocks purchases above this value).

Define the alert that will appear at checkout.

3. Click on Status → Active .
4. Click Save.

⚠️ Attention: After saving, you need to activate the “Cart Limits” rule in the Shopify dashboard . If you don't do this, the setting will not take effect and the limit will not work at checkout. (Below is a video showing the step-by-step process to activate it).

1.2) Custom rules for B2B

In addition to the standard limit, you can create specific rules just for B2B clients.

Example: wholesale customers can only finalize orders if they reach at least R$1,000 in purchases.

👉 This way, you can differentiate between retail (B2C) and wholesale (B2B) rules without needing to install another app or create manual exceptions.

🔹 Customer Validation via Tag

This feature allows you to apply specific rules to certain customers using tags in their Shopify profile . It's useful for blocking fraud or creating exceptions.

🛑 Purchase Limiter

Set a maximum purchase value for customers with a specific tag.

Practical example: tagging suspicious customers as “risky” and limiting purchases to R$500.

How to configure:

1. Define the rules

Choose whether you want to limit by total cart value , by quantity per product , or even block certain products.

2. Activate the functionality

In the Status field, select Active and click Save .

3. Add the tag to the client.

Go to the customer's profile on Shopify.

  • Add the tag prego-customer-limit .
  • Hello.

🛑 Client Blocker

Completely block checkout for customers who have a specific tag.

Practical example: You can completely block a customer tagged with "fraud," preventing them from completing any orders, or limit specific cases—such as a customer with the tag "prego-customer-limit ," who will not be able to spend more than R$500 or buy Gift Cards .

How to configure:

1. Go to the customer's profile on Shopify.

2. In the Tags field, add the tag that will be used to apply the rule (e.g., "risk" or "fraud"). Click Save .

3. Go back to the Nail panel and activate the desired rule (Limiter or Blocker).

4. Write the message that will be displayed to the customer.

  • Example: “Your account is not authorized to complete purchases. Please contact our support team.”

5. Save and activate the rule.

⚠️ Attention: After saving, you need to activate the “ Checkout and Cart Validationsrule in the Shopify dashboard . If you don't do this, the setting will not take effect and the limit will not work at checkout. Below is a video showing the step-by-step process.
