Important : Before following the instructions below, you need to install Jataí.

1) Confirm that your Checkout is in the updated format.

Check if your store uses the new checkout features (One-page checkout or Checkout Extensibility). How do I know if my checkout is already updated?

Check the First Address Field


  • Checkout updated: the ZIP code now appears before the street name.

Check in Settings

  • If the checkout process needs updating, a notification will appear in Settings > Checkout.

2) Enable Validation Extensions

  • Go to Settings > Checkout .
  • At the bottom of the screen, click Add Rule .
  • Click on the validation and uncheck the option "Allow all customers to complete checkout" .
  • Don't forget to click Activate .

How to customize Order Note Attributes

Important : Before following the instructions below, you need to install Jataí.

1) Note Attributes Configuration

  1. Within the Jataí app, locate the Order Fields page.
  2. Click Edit to modify the existing pre-configured fields.
  3. These fields will be automatically added to the Note Attributes section of your orders.

2) Creating an Advanced Editing of Order Fields

Explore the ultimate in customization with advanced editing. In this mode, you can add and duplicate a variety of custom fields as needed.

  1. Click on Access Advanced Editing .
  2. On the screen, all available field options and their corresponding fields will appear.
  3. Click on Add Field .
  4. In the Name field, enter how it will appear in the Note Attribute (in your integration documentation, use the exact same name as the field to facilitate integration).
  5. In Attribute Type , select the best option that matches this field.
  6. After configuring the desired fields, click Save to apply the changes.

Place a test order in your store to verify that the new note fields appear correctly on the checkout page and that the data is stored correctly with the order.

    How to Reprocess Orders:

    1) Access the order you wish to reprocess.

    2) In pencil, edit the information if necessary.

    3) In the upper right corner, click on “More Actions”.

    4) Select “Reprocess Order” and confirm with “Yes”.

    5) Monitor the status and history of your orders on the Jataí homepage by accessing the "Status and History" section.


    9. Does Jataí change my checkout?
    No. It doesn't change the Shopify layout, it only validates and organizes the address data.
